During your one-on-one session, we will address multiple areas that all Career Advisors would, such as past academic and work experience. However, we will spend most of the time discussing two areas of intelligence, crystallized and fluid.
Crystallized intelligence involves knowledge that comes from prior learning and past experiences. It is based upon facts, figures, and other retained information and understanding from education, life, and everyday knowledge. As we age and accumulate new knowledge and understanding, crystallized intelligence becomes stronger.

Fluid intelligence is the measure of your ability to process new information and how you use it to solve problems and identify patterns. It refers to the ability to reason and think flexibly. Fluid intelligence involves being able to think and reason abstractly and solve problems. This ability is considered independent of learning, experience, and education. Examples of the use of fluid intelligence include solving puzzles and coming up with problem-solving strategies.
It is interesting to note that people often claim that their intelligence seems to decline as they age. However, research suggests that while fluid intelligence begins to decrease after adolescence, crystallized intelligence continues to increase throughout adulthood.
